These are estimates. Weekend traffic on the Outer Ring Road and the Chevella road can add 30–45 minutes, so leave earlier than you think you need to.

How to reach Ananthagiri Hills by car

The most common route is: Hyderabad → Outer Ring Road → Chevella exit → Chevella–Vikarabad road → Vikarabad → Ananthagiri Hills. From Gachibowli or Hitech City, the ORR gets you to Chevella quickly; from Mehdipatnam or the old city, join the ORR at Aramghar or Shamshabad and follow the same direction.

  • Roads are good for most of the drive; the last stretch to the campsite is a village road, so slow down after dark.
  • Keep a FASTag for the ORR tolls.
  • Fuel up before Chevella — there are fewer reliable stations on the last stretch.
  • Free on-site parking is available at the campsite.
  • If you are using Google Maps, search for the campsite location shared by the team after booking rather than the general “Ananthagiri Hills” pin.

The campsite is about 12 km from the main Ananthagiri Hills viewpoint, so the final leg is shorter than the Hyderabad–Vikarabad drive.

How to reach Ananthagiri Hills by bike

The ride is popular with weekend bikers because the Chevella–Vikarabad road is open and scenic. Budget two to two and a half hours with a short break, fuel up before Chevella, and avoid riding the last village stretch after dark. Carry a light jacket — the hills are cooler than the city, especially after sunset.

How to reach Ananthagiri Hills by bus

TSRTC runs regular buses from Hyderabad to Vikarabad, mainly from MGBS (Imamabagh) and Koti. The bus takes about 1.5–2 hours to Vikarabad. From Vikarabad bus stand, take an auto-rickshaw or a cab for the 12 km to the campsite.

  • Buses are frequent in the morning and afternoon; evening frequency drops.
  • Check the current TSRTC timetable before you travel.
  • From Vikarabad, negotiate the auto fare before starting — there is no app-based cab guarantee in the town.

How to reach Ananthagiri Hills by train

The nearest railway station is Vikarabad Junction (VKB). Trains from Hyderabad Deccan, Secunderabad, and Kacheguda connect to Vikarabad in about 1.5–2 hours. From the station, take an auto or cab for the 12 km to the campsite.

Train timings change, so check IRCTC or the Indian Railways enquiry service for the current schedule. The train is a good option if you do not want to drive, but the last-mile auto is easier to arrange in daylight.

Last-mile transport to the campsite

The campsite is 12 km from the Ananthagiri Hills viewpoint and the same distance from Vikarabad town. Autos and cabs are available at Vikarabad station and bus stand. If you are coming by bus or train, ask the team for the pinned location and a local driver contact before you arrive.

Transport is not included in any camping package, and the campsite does not run a pickup service. Free parking is available on-site for guests arriving by car or bike.

Best time to leave Hyderabad

  • On weekends: add 30–45 minutes for ORR and Chevella traffic.
  • Avoid: starting after 5:00 PM if you are not familiar with the last village road.

The one day trip itinerary has a hour-by-hour plan if you are visiting without staying overnight.
